    Ambedkar Park or B. R. Ambedkar Samajik Parivartan Sthal is one of the grand monuments of present Lucknow, build by a powerful chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, Ms. Mayawati. It spread over 107 acres along with river Gomti in Gomti Nagar. Monument is dedicated to the memory of Dr B.R. Ambedkar, principal architect of the Indian Constitution and first law minister in of dependent India. Originally the monument was named as Ambedkar Park, but later it was changed to B. R. Ambedkar Samajik Parivartan Sthal.

     

    Memorial building is in stupa shape of hight 112 ft. In the centre of stupa, a 18 ft high bronze statue of Dr Ambedkar give magnificent view. The various buildings such as Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Smarak, Samajik Parivartan Sangrahalaya, Samajik Parivartan Gallery, Pratibimb Sthal, Drishya Sthal, Gautam Buddha Sthal, Samajik Parivartan Stambh, expansive forecourt, Monumental elephant gallery, bronze fountains, Ashokan Columns & urns, entrance plazas can also be seen within this grand monument, Its lush gardens & lanes with a 20 ft. wide canal surrounding the memorial and the serene atmosphere leave the visitors spell bound.

     

    Monument spread its full glory at the night with beautiful lights, but due to early closing at 6:00 pm, you cannot enjoy lighting from inside the premises. The best view can be taken from the over-bridge near the monument. UPSTDC operating a restaurant in front of the Dr B. R. Ambedkar Samajik Parivastan Sthal. Inside also one can enjoy snacks in cafeteria. Public toilet and big parking facility also available inside the monument.
