Begam Hazrat Mahal Park proudly located in the heart of city, 500 meters form Hazratganj and just in-front of Hotel Clark Awadh next to Globe Park. Previous name of Begam Hazrat Mahal Park was Victoria Park, which was renamed to Begum Hazrat Mahal Park Lucknow on the Independence Day 15th August in 1962.

Name of the park based on first wife of Nawab Wajid Ali Shah, Begum Hazrat Mahal also known as Begum of Awadh. She rebelled against the British East India Company during the Indian Rebellion of 1857. After her husband had been exiled to Calcutta, she took charge of the affairs in the state of Awadh and seized control of Lucknow. She also arranged for her son, Prince Birjis Qadir, to become Wali (ruler) of Awadh; However, he was forced to abandon this role after a short reign. She finally found asylum in Nepal where she died in 1879.

Till 1997 the park was used for Ramlila, Lucknow Mahotsav and for rallies. Later it was renovated with a totally new look and make it restricted place for rallies, Mahotsav or any other type of meetings. Now it is good place for jogging and for enjoying evenings. This Park is in under the LDA (Lucknow Development Authority).
